Questions & Answers

Answers to common questions.

You will need to purchase your plane ticket until the final destination which is Pucallpa. We know that most international or transatlantic flights arrive in Lima, but from there is possible to find a connecting flight to Pucallpa, as there are at least 3 companies, leaving every day towards Pucallpa and back.

We advise you to come one day early in Pucallpa, before your time with us starts. In case there are any delays with your flight, you still can arrive in time for us to pick you up and start your amazing journey in the middle of the jungle with us.

The day you arrive one of our staff members, will pick you up at the airport and take you to your already reserved room.

Ayahuasca Spirit healing center crew will meet & greet you at Del Castillo Plaza Hotel  at 10:00 am on the morning of your retreat, where you can meet the rest of the crew and your future jungle family, pay the rest of the money cash and once we are all set, you can relax and enjoy the boat trip to the wonderful community of Limongema, Pucallpa.

    ANSWERS TO COMMON QUESTIONS

We’ve compiled a list of answers to common questions.

What to bring with you while visiting us?

Flashlight with red-light setting / Water bottle / Lighters

Raincoat / Waterproof shoes (especially if you come December to March included when is the rainy season in the jungle)

Swimming Suits / Loose Fitting Clothing / Long sleeve shirt / Long Sleeve Pants / All white attire for ceremony (linen clothing works best) if you wish /Underwear / Socks

Writing materials / Light reading materials / Art supplies

    Camera (optional)

Organic deodorant / Organic toothpaste / Organic body/face wash / Organic shampoo / Organic sunscreen / Organic insect repellent

Should I bring DEET? No – please don’t! Deet is toxic to plants and humans alike and we ask you to kindly not bring it with you to the center.

What medical information you need to know?

What happens if there is a medical emergency?

    • We have direct contact with a local hospital with transportation available 24/7 and have First Aid/CPR certified staff.

    Should I get vaccinated?

    • Although we do not believe it is necessary to do so, please consult with your doctor and local travel clinic to make the best decision for yourself.

    Women advice

Can I work with Ayahuasca while pregnant?

    • Unfortunately, women who are pregnant are unable to work with Ayahuasca during their pregnancy.

Can I participate in ceremony if I am on my period?

    • Yes. However, if possible try to book your retreat for a week where you are not going to be on your moon as your energy during this time is extremely strong and can take you out of your center and shift your focus more externally vs. internally (which is not ideal when working with Ayahuasca).

Should I come alone or with someone I know?

Whether you choose to come alone, with a loved one or a group of 10 friends, all of these options are completely fine. If you do come alone however, don’t worry, you will meet your jungle family soon enough and with our staff as well, you will feel supported and connected in every way possible.

    I’m scared…

It is normal to be afraid and a little fear is healthy in this instance as it is the signal that change is upon you. Breathe, center yourself and have faith that everything will turn out exactly as it should. We’re here to support you before, during and after your trip to help navigate fear and transform it into a clarified intent.

    Does the staff speak English?

Yes – the facilitators, intake coordinator and integrationist all speak English! Wiler and the local staff however do not but there is staff available to translate whenever needed.

    Are my meals included?

Yes! 3 meals a day plus unlimited fruit is available for snacks throughout the day. Please note however, on days where you will have ceremony at night, you do not eat dinner (only breakfast and lunch). This is standard practice as Ayahuasca can induce purging so we want to make sure your stomach is as empty as possible. Some people choose to fast half days/ the whole day before a ceremony – if this is the case, please let our kitchen link know in the morning.

What happens if I change my mind and want to leave early?

You are always free to leave should you feel the need to at any point during your retreat. Our staff will firstly try to accommodate you in any way possible but if leaving is the only option, transportation will be arranged for your return to Pucallpa as soon as is possible. Please note there are no partial refunds.

How long is the journey from Pucallpa to the center and where do we meet?

The journey from the Del Castillo Plaza Hotel where we will meet at 10:00am on the morning of your retreat in the lobby, lasts about 1 hrs. Taxi’s/vans will take us to the river bank where we will then take motorized boats down the river to the center.

Is there electricity at the center?

    Yes.

    Is there Wi-Fi available?

Although we recommend that you take this time to disconnect from the outside world, we will have Wi-Fi sticks for pasajeros to use while at the center.

    Any last words of advice?

Let go. Trust. Get ready. Be open and … Good Luck! We believe in you.
