Do’s & Don’t’s

I wish somebody would have told me this before my first experience…

We all have fears, we all wonder, we all try to imagine and we all do our research. This is an experience so personal that nobody can prepare you for it. Nonetheless see few useful things to have in mind.

Do’s

  • Have an open mind
  • Surrender to the process
  • Trust in the medicine
  • Have a desire for change
  • Ask questions
  • Believe that you will once again believe in yourself
  • Let go of any pre-conceived notions
  • Let go of expectations
  • Embrace that whatever you are shown in ceremony has a deeper meaning and purpose for you
  • Know that sometimes, the road will be rocky and unpleasant, but you will make it out the other side
  • Start building your relationship with Ayahuasca before coming to the center
  • Know that we are here for you, in every way possible

Don’t’s

  • Have expectations
  • Try to control the medicine
  • Be hard on yourself – trust the process
  • Force a purge! (If you don’t believe us, ask someone who has in the past)
  • Focus on anyone other than yourself in ceremony, we are here to support your new family, don’t worry
  • Try to control your visions, whether they are there or not, pleasant or unpleasant, breathe through the moment, center yourself and be the observer not the controller
  • Let yourself attach to any negative thought patterns that do not serve you, allow them to pass through as they exit your existence
  • Ever give up!
